Help from Steinbergkirche for people who need help today:

Relief supplies collection
December 17/18, 2022

Our collection of relief supplies on Sat. 17.12./ Sun. 18.12.2022 in Steinbergkirche on the parking lot in front of the department store STOLZ was a huge success!

We have experienced an unprecedented level of participation from people here locally and from the surrounding area! It was sheer overwhelming for everyone! We had prepared ourselves out of a private initiative with 3 large vans, hoping to get at least 2 of them filled. The first van was already full before the actual start of the aid collection at noon on Saturday.

In addition to food (no perishable products), winter clothing of all kinds, hygiene items and Christmas gifts for children and other utensils, we have received a very large amount of medical aid products donated from a medical department for Ukraine. Doctors had given us insight into the dramatic conditions under which work is done there (or no help can be provided due to lack of materials).

On Sunday 18.12.2022 we had the largest number of donations here in Steinbergkirche and were overwhelmed from the beginning at 2 p.m. Minute by minute people came with cars, some of them full to the brim, to drop off packed clothes and food purchased specifically for the Ukraine tour.

The whole thing continued on Sunday until shortly before closing at 18:00. At some point, the 3 vans were packed to the roof… around 7:00 p.m., we decided to additionally fetch our club bus, because it felt like half of the parking lot was still full with clothes and other relief supplies.

No sooner said than done. When everything was loaded into the 3 sprinters and the 18-meter bus, and we all had a few minutes to rest, each of us only really realized what readiness of heart the people of Steinbergkirchen and the people here in the nearby region have for the people who had lost everything: We ourselves were moved to tears. And we knew: the people in Ukraine are waiting for us!

December 19, 2022

With 3 fully loaded sprinters and 6 riders from our team we are Mo. 19.12.2022 around 1.50 p.m. from Steinbergkirche in the direction of Ukraine, we were also able to complete the official documents and accompanying letters for the journey. The trip went relatively smoothly.

Tuesday 20.12. we drove with all three vehicles to the customs border area of Ukraine and handed over 33 m³ of relief goods, medical products, food, winter clothing, hygiene products, Christmas presents for children and other utensils to the Ukrainians.

We had many more positive experiences on this second tour, including right on the Ukrainian border. The people in the country who received the relief supplies were deeply touched. Wednesday evening 21.12. At 7:00 p.m., all helpers arrived safely back in Steinbergkirche, after 3,000 km of travel and 53 hours of operation.

The amount of the Steinbergkirchen relief goods of 33 m³ from our 3 transporters were brought by the Ukrainians, with whom we have coordinated logistically exactly for this handover, purposefully to the most affected regions of the country and distributed there further.

This news reached us on the morning of December 22, 2022. Thank God, everything worked out according to plan! The people who need this help so badly have been able to get this help.

MANY THANKS TO ALL WHO HELPED MAKE THIS MISSION POSSIBLE!

Connection tour directly after Christmas

Another direct connection tour is planned by us after Christmas with departure on Tuesday 27.12.2022, we have received on 17.12./18.12.2022 in Steinbergkirche on the STOLZ parking lot far beyond the expected amount of relief supplies (especially clothing) and have decided to bring again on private initiative a fourth van full of 12.5 m³ of relief supplies (clothing) there on site in Ukraine.

Hey guys, we also experienced a lot on our Ukraine connection tour right after Christmas! The most important thing: all your help has arrived in full!

The rest of the relief supplies from Steinbergkirche, which we had collected on December 17/18, 2022, were driven to Ukraine on December 29 with the fourth transporter from us and arrived on site, all together it was over 43m³ of food, hygiene articles, winter clothing, shoes, medical products, children’s toys, and more!

Our fourth transporter: More than 10m³ of winter clothes from Steinbergkirche (see photos), which we delivered on 29.12. brought to Ukraine were sorted on Dec. 30, 2022, at a local church congregation for immediate distribution locally and given out to those in need.

Thank God for that! A huge THANK YOU to everyone from Steinbergkirche and the surrounding area who donated so massively, who helped with the preparation here, who contributed to the costs!

What we experienced in the team before Christmas as well as directly afterwards with both transports to Ukraine, is a heartfelt gratitude of the people that was shown to us! They were moved inside and moved to tears! We too.

The suffering there is indescribable in some regions, one can hardly find words, some of it we have perceived ourselves. All the more we got the inspiration to keep helping! Thank God everything worked out with the transports and rides! All of us from the team also returned safely from Ukraine to Northern Germany both times.

This January, we’ll continue. Info about the next tour and what’s needed right now you’ll find here on the web and on Instagram @team4jc soon.

Thank you very much for your willingness! Your Team4JC
